Who is BiON?

I am a semi-"out" bisexual man from the Texas Hill country. I write under the pseudonym "BiON" because I am currently only out to my wife and a few close friends.

I am a happily married Air Force veteran turned computer geek, with three children, two of whom are teenagers, with the third already living on her own. I have been attracted to both men and women as far back as my junior high days, though for most of my life, I managed to repress (read: "ignore the blatantly obvious") the fact that men tend to "do it" for me more than women. Despite the seeming contradiction, I have been happily married since 1987, and I am fully committed to honoring my marriage vows. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful, loving and supportive wife at my side.

When I finally faced the reality of my orientation, I started blogging to help sort out my thoughts. I also started researching information on various things that were of significance to me: the fundamental tenets of Christianity, Biblical scholarship, bisexuality, coming out, emotional wellness, etc.

I found it very difficult to find any information that applied directly to my situation. Compared to the number of GLBT sites of all kinds on the net, there are very few sites, other than "hook-up" sites, specifically for bisexuals. With much digging, time, and effort, I have accumulated a significant amount of information from a number of resources. It occurred to me that if I am dealing with this, there is a good chance that there are others out there in the same boat, who also need these resources.

With this in mind I decided to create Bi Any Other Name. At the very least, it will serve as a virtual library of information to which I can easily refer. Eventually, I would like to see this site become a portal through which to find good solid resources without first having to dig through all the detritus. I would hope that this can serve as a resource for all GLBT folks (after all it is called "Bi Any Other Name"), but the emphasis will be on bisexuality and faith in Christ.

Thank you for visiting this site. I hope you have gained something while here, and feel free to return anytime. I f you have any suggestions for improvements, or information that you feel should be here, please contact me at bion at bianyothername dot com.
